Fresh Salsa

½ green pepper
½ red pepper
3 cups tomatoes
3 green onions
1 ½ Tbsp minced garlic
1 ½ Tbsp lime juice
2 Tbsp chopped cilantro
1 tsp salt
1 ½ tsp oregano
2 ½ Tbsp maple syrup

Instructions:

Chop all vegetables in food processor and add spices and syrup.

 

 

Maple Barbeque Cheese Ball

8 oz cream cheese, softened
¾ cup shredded old, sharp cheddar cheese
1 ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ tsp minced garlic
1 ½ tsp minced onion
2 tsp maple syrup
1 Tbsp Gilbertson’s Maple Signature BBQ Spice Blend
½ cup toasted crushed pecans or almonds

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together except the nuts. Shape mixture into a ball and roll in the nuts. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill overnight. Serve with assorted crackers or toasts.

 

Coleslaw with Maple Boiled Dressing

1 – 3lb cabbage sliced or grated

2 – 3 carrots grated
4 stalks of celery thinly sliced
1 bunch green onions sliced
1 green pepper diced
¾ cup white sugar sprinkled over prepared vegetables
Dressing
1 cup vinegar
2 tsp prepared mustard
2 tsp celery salt
¼ cup maple syrup
1 cup oil

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients except oil and bring to a boil. Boil 2 minutes. Add oil and mix well. Pour hot dressing over the vegetable mixture and let stand, when cool, cover and keep refrigerated for up to 6 weeks.
